A Simple Inspection Template allows shops to create structured digital inspection checklists for technicians. Using groups and tasks, shops can organize inspection points into clear sections such as brakes, tires, engine, or fluids.
Click Create New Template in the top-right corner.
You will see two template options:
Simple Template
Advanced Template
Select the Simple Template to open the basic template configuration screen.
The Simple Template editor allows you to create inspection structures using groups and tasks.
The template editor includes:
Template Name
Groups
Tasks
Enter template name, group title, and define tasks. Click on the Plus icon to add more tasks to the same group.
To create a new group, click New Group, and repeat the process.
Groups help organize inspection tasks into logical sections for technicians.
Enter details and click on Save.
Groups and tasks can be reordered using the drag handles (six dots) beside each group.
The Edit Existing Template dropdown when creating a template allows you to quickly load an existing inspection template.
Select a template from the dropdown to modify its groups or tasks.
This allows shops to reuse templates and update them without creating new ones.
After configuring the inspection structure, click Save. The template becomes available when creating inspections inside Repair Orders.
Groups organize inspection tasks into logical sections such as Engine, Brakes, Tires, or Fluids. This structure makes it easier for technicians to complete inspections systematically during a Repair Order.
Inside the template editor, click the Plus icon next to the task field to add additional tasks under the same group. This allows technicians to check multiple inspection points within a single category.
Yes. Click New Group in the template editor to add additional sections. Each group can contain multiple tasks depending on the inspection requirements.
Yes. Use the Edit Existing Template dropdown when creating a template to load an existing structure. You can then modify groups or tasks before saving.
Once the template structure is configured and Save is clicked, it becomes available to select when creating Digital Vehicle Inspections within Repair Orders.
